How to Make an Amazon Account

Amazon is probably the first place to look up when you need to buy something. It is huge and has probably every single thing you can think of! But the trouble is, even though you can just go through the products, you cannot buy or sell anything on Amazon without an Amazon account. Not only that, but also the streaming of Amazon’s digital content requires you to have an Amazon account. Got a new Kindle this birthday? You will need an Amazon account in order to use it.

Amazon account seems like the new must-have. Here is how to you easily create one, explained in short, step-by-step:

Step 1: Search for “Amazon.com” and click on the site.

Step 2: Look for the “Your Account” option on the upper-right corner of the page. Move your cursor over it. You’ll find a new drop-down menu.

Step 3: Just below the “Sign In” button, there is an option marked “Start Here”. Click on it.

Step 4: Provide your name and e-mail address in the designated places. Although providing a phone number is not a must, but we would recommend you to do so, since a phone number helps you with some extra security and convenience.

Step 5: Decide on a strong password which you can easily remember as well. Click on “Create Account”.

Step 6: The page will redirect you to the Amazon “Welcome” page, and then you need to personalize your account. In order to personalize, click on the “Your Account” option at the top of the page on the right.

Step 7: Go to the “Payments Method” menu and select “Add a Credit Card”. Provide the necessary information related to your card which will also include providing your billing address.

Step 8: Go back to the “Your Account” option once more and got to “Account Settings”. Under the account settings you will find the option “Add new address”. With ample details, type your shipping address after you have provided your password.

Step 9: Click on “Save and Continue”.

Step 10: If you have a second address that you might want your products to be shipped to, go back to “Your Accounts” and click on “Manage Address Book”. Enter the details of your second address. Mentioning an address as “Gifting Address” will make Amazon send gift receipts when the products are delivered to the intended gifting address.

Step 11: How much you want your account to be visible to public is entirely up to you. So, go back to “Your Account” option and select the option “Your Public profile”. Fill as much as you want, or as less as you want to, based on the privacy that seem fit.

Step 12: Mark the box that says that you have accepted the terms and conditions of Amazon, and hit “Finish”.

There! You now have a completed Amazon account. Just go crazy on the sales going on and get fatally broke even faster than your friends and peers!
